Individual Note: Born David Henry Roy (or Le Roy), thought to be of Huguenot descent, the family originating from Alsace France.
In 1768 he had a pew, marked 'B1' in Winterslow Church. The west side pews were reserved for important women and the pew numbered 6 was allocated to 'King'. He contributed to one perch of railing to the churchyard in 1771.
Elected as way-warden for the parish in 1775, 1787, 1789 and 1790.
Elected as overseer of the roads for the years 1791-92 and 1794-95.
Overseer of the poor for the years 1777-78, 1789-90 and 1795.
Lived at Old Manor, standing about King's corner.
David Henry King is spoken about in a booklet 'Winterslow by the W.I.'
